The Mechanicsburg Guild of Monsters: A Girl Genius short story is a 13-page story run during October 2021, while Phil Foglio is recovering from shoulder surgery on his drawing arm. The story is drawn and colored by Cheyenne Wright and written by Phil[1] and Kaja Foglio. It is set at some point after the end of the Other War and the freeing of Mechanicsburg from Baron Wulfenbach's time-bubble.
The story starts out ✣ with Agatha (as the newly installed "Dark Lord" of Mechanicsburg) protesting the mountain of paperwork that her seneschal, Vanamonde von Mekkhan, is urging her to deal with. One of the first items he presents for her signature is a renewal of the charter for the Mechanicsburg Guild of Monsters. She obliges, leading to the main part of the story, in which the young-ish monster Snakkerjape, a newcomer to Mechanicsburg, investigates the destruction of the original Monster Guildhall by The Heterodyne Boys.
