In my opinion this one really should be a Wikipedia-style disambiguation page -- and also IMO, there is room in the wiki for a certain number of these. The thing that disambiguation pages accomplish that using the search box doesn't is to provide context. Someone using the search box on "Heterodyne" will get a number of references that may or may not be helpful to him/her in finding the page he/she is really looking for. A disambiguation page can take care of that. The number of terms requiring disambiguation so far is quite small; in addition to Heterodyne, I'd also set one up for "Wulfenbach," and when the time comes that Spark is so well developed that the concept needs to be separated from the people, a disambiguator there will be useful too. But we're not going to see a proliferation of these things. There just aren't many things in Girl Genius with the multitude of meanings that "Heterodyne" has.
Is there opposition to disambiguation pages for some reason I don't grok? If so, please explain. -- that old bearded guy 15:14, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
