Although I wouldn't dispute the conclusions drawn, I have to say much of this seems more like "Fanon" than canon to me. — Zarchne 04:03, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
I removed the 'Minion' category because somehow I think Dr. Dim isn't terribly fond of the Baron and would not serve him if he had a choice.... ;) Corgi 08:22, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
I have to disagree with both previous points on this talk page. The article states (very well, I might add) what we know about Dr. Dim and is clear about which parts of the article are reasonable speculation. On the second point, it's just a minor quibble over semantics -- Dr. Dim is a minion. If we're including Vole (who has his own agenda, in spite of his currently cowed state), Wooster, Mr. Rovainen, and Zoing, I think Dim qualifies too. --mnenyver 16:08, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'd agree that he's a minion. The minion doesn't have to be fond of the Spark, he just has to be influenced, and have his behavior driven, by the Spark's force of will, which in his own pathetic way, describes Dr. Dim.
- Incidentally, while I admire and value the Foglios' skill in creating characters, I curse them for creating this one. Anyone who has a loved one with Alzheimer's disease, as is present in my family, looks at the character of Dr. Dim and just hurts. I don't need any more hurt from seeing a loved one with Alzheimer's; got plenty of that already, thank you very much. -- that old bearded guy 14:09, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- My question would be why it is assumed that Dr. Dim is a "worse" from which Klaus is "getting much better". If you're going to take brain coring seriously, isn't it as natural (maybe even more natural) to assume that Dim is someone with a much better quality of life than previous attempts? ⚙Zarchne 01:16, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
I think that everyone is wont to look at Girl Genius in the context of the Twentieth Century United States, but the story is set in a context very similar to the Europe of the Merovingians. or perhaps the Carolingians. The Baron is both judge and jury because there is no one else who can do the job. There are no disinterested courts in this setting. Baron Wulfenbach finds himself obliged to play the roles of ruler, judge, jury, and executioner. His is the only moral authority capable of enforcing its assessments of innocence or guilt. -- Billy Catringer 03:14, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Spark Hounds and Knights of the Hunt.[]
Martellus was Vapnoople's number one assitant. Vapnoople made wolf/human constructs. Are the Sparkhounds Vapnoople creations? Are the Knights of the Hunt an improvemnt by the von Blitzengaard's? Probably. Klaus didn't sit on the von Blitzengaards like he did Vapnoople because they weren't ravising the countryside (and/or they were too powerful). Fred1740 (talk) 19:26, May 9, 2018 (UTC)
