By the typing of your thumbs, something wiki this way comes.

Is this something caused by the Black Squad attempt to remove Klaus? Dperra.sr (talk) 04:50, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

This feels like a Smoke Knight trick. 24.16.179.49 05:19, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Maybe time-travel clones? Take-Five activates, Klaus sees chrono-kaiju , travels back in time, just before Take-Five activates, takes a step and Take-Five activates for Klaus clone 1, Klaus clone 1 travels back in time... and so on. As for how he time travels, maybe the Take-Five isn't exactly stable. Could mean that Mamma Gkika is experiencing something similar if she managed to stick close to the Take-Five. (thanks for chrono-kaiju MTBinDurham, thanks for "last left Klaus" link DLcygnet) 84.85.128.97 06:48, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

If they are time-travel clones, it might be a Schlok Mercenary scenary if it's from Phil's current kind of comics, or it might be a Yoshitomi Akihito scenary if it's from his OLD kind of comics AuthYY (talk) 09:30, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

also now you know why, in the joking thread about "they will find Snoopy's flying doghouse", I edited out my "let's check if there's any Red Baron" words from the heads-up that the sneaky gate was open. Yep. Lots and lots of barons here, all of them red. I swear didn't notice the pun at first. Must be advanced age taking its toll... AuthYY (talk) 09:18, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

That is funny! That's almost as much even more of a coincidence as the guy on Reddit who guessed there would be a crowd of Klauses. And thank you for removing your accidental spoiler once you caught it. -- 🔧William Ansley (talk) 11:43, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Now I'm going to post a spoiler, but it is a scheduling spoiler not a plot spoiler. According to what Kaja said on Patreon (behind a paywall), this double-page spread is the end of volume 24. Friday will be a filler page, because the Foglios will be in Las Vegas for MagicCon. And Monday, volume 25 will begin. Will we join Higgs in Skifander? -- 🔧William Ansley (talk) 11:57, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

They also added this:

I'm afraid it's going to be a few pages of the characters going "What the heck?" so please bear with us.

(Don't think that counts as a spoiler?) MTBinDurham (talk) 12:54, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
It is not a spoiler if it comes from the authors. Besides, I think most of us expect to have everyone saying, "What the Heck", for a few more pages considering the length of the buildup to this point. Dperra.sr (talk) 22:04, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

I notice that a lot of the Klauses (Klausen? Klausera? Klüse?) have made significant movements beyond just holding the time stopper, including trying to smash it with his foot in one instance. (Sorry I know the "Take Five" is the accepted fan name but it grates on me somehow.) That seems an unlikely result of the stopper itself. I'm guessing the attempted extraction by the Black Squad triggered the multiplexing.

Klauses if masculine. Klausens if feminine. DLcygnet (talk) 14:32, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

One other note for the mods. I put what was supposed to be a short question that turned into a long one at the end of the stub Mechanicsburg layout page about proper way to categorize something on the wiki which is trying to be as close as possible to the text but involves some speculation in interpretation between mutually contradictory geographical orientations. Should that just go under /Mad or is there a better place for it? If one of the mods could weigh in with some guidance I'd be grateful. MTBinDurham (talk) 12:54, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

It's Klaus! At the Disco! Is he doing the Hustle? Are they playing Disco Duck? Bosda Di'Chi (talk) 13:14, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

I mean, it pretty much has to be the Time Warp, right? I see at least a couple of Klauses jumping to the left, and several stepping to the right. No hands on hips yet, though, must not have gotten there yet. MTBinDurham (talk) 13:31, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
Certanily it is the time warp. The multiple Klaus images are the result of whatever happened when the Black Squad extraction team for Klaus tried and failed to "get Kalus". Dperra.sr (talk) 15:13, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
It's the pelvic thrust that really takes you to the madness place. Mskala (talk) 17:40, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
What's the collective noun for a number of copies of Klaus Wulfenbach? Possibly a squadron, if we think of him as the Red Baron. Mskala (talk) 15:29, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
How about a Cohort of Klaus? Dperra.sr (talk) 16:12, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
A Sentence of Klauses? (sorry) Bkharvey (talk) 05:51, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
A Peerage or Baronage of Klauses. Congregation would also work since he's a time prisoner. DLcygnet (talk) 14:35, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Assuming that this effect is a consequence of the Black Squad's efforts to retrieve Klaus, may those efforts have been what triggered the interdimensional being's attention? We assume that the mere stopping of time is what caused the interdimensional being's attention (and the timeline would seem to support that view), but let's not discount that the real problem was the meddling of the Black Squad (especially if the interdimensional being perceives time differently from humans). 200.46.52.10 15:55, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Along those lines, what if the activation of the Mechanicsburg gateway at the same time as the Take 5 device activation is what attracted the interdimensional monster? Additionally, could it be a combination of events starting with Robur Heterodynes time experiments, continuing with the "Attack" on castle Heterodyne, possibly including the energy released during Agatha's first breakthrough, and finalized with the activation of the Take 5 devise at the same time as the gateway? Dperra.sr (talk) 01:44, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Where's Gkika? Fred1740 (talk) 22:56, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

And is the Black Squad still around or did they leave? Argadi (talk) 02:04, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Maybe they took one Klaus and left. "Eeny, meeny, miney, mo!" Mylorite (talk) 05:44, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Or, the Black Squad members are dead or incapacitated hidden by the Cohort of Klaus. Gkika, is hidden behind the Cohort as well. Dperra.sr (talk) 10:22, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Alternative Theory: Klaus is the product of three Wulfenbach Brothers. What happened to their remains? If anything was leftover, particularly parts of the brain, could he have re-grown them like Olga? Figured out how to make them all sparks from his experiments? Even if they were hollow shells, could he have implanted one of his overlays the way he did with Gill (even keeping him in a jar)? Could Klaus have created spare Barons in the event that something happened to him? After all, what we know he's done sounds so horribly close to what Lucrezia did that the two might just be fearful symmetries of each other. Perhaps this attack of the Clones was precipitated by some sort of fail safe or perhaps one of them has been in hiding on Castle Wulfenbach all these years, waiting and watching for signs that Gil was compromised. DLcygnet (talk) 14:52, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

I think Dlcygnet has been watching too much Star Wars. Klaus is not an Emperor Palpatine wannabe. We know from the notes that more often than not the type of tampering you are talking about often results in an out-of-control monster. I doubt Klaus would chance taking that risk. Dperra.sr (talk) 22:20, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

So far no one has brought this up, so. Let's address the Elephant in the room shale we. Not only does there appear to be multiple Klaus, there also appears to be multiple Take 5 devices. How will they find the real One to turn it off? Dperra.sr (talk) 00:29, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

What if, like the Klauses, they're all real? It'd be terrible if the times added up! (Yeah, I know, the "2"s reflect the passage of GG-world time, but maybe it's only just now that they multiplied.) Bkharvey (talk) 01:37, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
AH, but no not "real" in the sense that they occupy space. Except for the one "real" physical Klaus and Take 5 device all the rest are after images, like snap shots of a sort. There are way too many Klaus-es to fit in that physical space. If they were all real, they would not be able to occupy that relatively small space. Or, to put it a different way 10 lb. of Klaus in a 5 lb. sack. Dperra.sr (talk) 12:35, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
