Good man. Alright, so the time stop radiated out from the center and took an extra second or two to kick in after the initial shock wave, which gave them the extra seconds they needed to reach the gate (Probably this gate, but definitely not this gate or this gate). - We also see that the time stop effect stopped just outside the main gate which implies that the Thorn wall is also outside the time stop effect. Since the Thorn wall is still growing that fact also shows that the Castle is still functional as well. Perhaps slowed down but still functional. Dperra.sr (talk) 17:16, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- That was the Castle herding Gil and Higgs over to where they would be able to see the extra dimensional creature. Yes, it is inside the time stop but it also literally popped up in real time well inside Mechanicsburg and inside the outer city wall. Up till this point the thorn hedge was only outside the city wall. This is additional proof that the Castle is not at all disabled by the time stop. Dperra.sr (talk) 19:43, 25 September 2024 (UTC)

- There are a few key pages that provide panoramic views of either the town or the map of the town in Castle Wulfenbach. I often refer back to those. I'll also point out that a strong, strict geography doesn't seem to be something that the Foglios emphasize, so to a degree we're kind of retconning a strong geography, but also given that I know they use the wiki for reference, maybe we can help! - Oh, and I'll say that my suspected escape route is largely visible in one of the original Mechanicsburg panoramas. ✣ My hunch is that the Red Cathedral, like the castle, opens mainly to the east (to the right in this view, so she would have jumped down then ridden this road around the base of the castle (the backside, I believe) and then straight into the foreground of this page and out the main gate. Right, here's a start on links: Mechanicsburg layout We can start sorting out the details with a sketch map as we go.
One of the key questions will be, what direction does the main gate face? I have it in my head that it's the south gate, but I'm not certain about that. The other question is, is the winding road up to Castle Heterodyne the main gate of the Castle? I don't think it is, because multiple times characters move very quickly between the main castle gate (where Agatha appears at the ringing of the Doom Bell) and the town square. I think the tallest tower stands over the postern gate, which is the most common view of the castle, but the main entrance to the castle faces away from the main town gate.
- The page from after Agatha's first entry at the main gate into Mechanicsburg implies that Agatha and crew are heading in an easterly direction. We do not see the sun which implies it is behind the viewer Therefore the main gate is behind Agatha must be generally on the westerly side of the town. My impression is that the main gate is at the southwest corner of town where the main road into the valley follows the Dynes' channel out of Mechanicsburg. Dperra.sr (talk) 13:53, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
