Veni, vidi, wiki (I came, I saw, I edited).
"Secret, sacred rituals" in panel 3 implies that four-armed priestesses are made, not born. So they had Sparks, I guess. (Well, certainly the old Queen was one, so that's not a surprise.) But this does suggest that Steelgarter is older than she looks. ➤
- I think that by showing Steelgarter Fred1740 (talk) 11:34, 24 November 2021 (UTC) the authors were implying that she is not a construct - no stiches or scars. Somehow the rituals weren't simply grafting surplus arms onto the new priestess.
I suggested on Patreon that Zeetha is probably exaggerating about how many people she's seen in Europa with extra limbs, and especially not extra heads, and two people immediately reminded me that there's one back on page three of the first volume. But I still think she's exaggerating. Bkharvey (talk) 05:57, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
- Since Zeetha was in Europe for three years before we readers and Agatha encounter her, how can you know exactly who and what she saw? What exactly do we know about those three years? Fred1740 (talk) 18:44, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
This does raise additional questions. How did Steelgarter end up far away from Skifander, with no way to return, not even the knowledge where it was? When did she leave? It seems likely she left sometime after the conflict started, otherwise her attitude might have been a lot friendlier. But if she left through the mirror, probably not as long ago as 5000 years, when the mirrors ceased to function. Since Lucrezia's is able to TheCinC (talk) 17:20, 24 November 2021 (UTC), which is never explained, and also sent Klaus to Skifander, most likely on purpose, but maybe just because it was a known place with a mirror, far away.. Perhaps she spent time in Skifander and brought Steelgarter back with her? Considering how Lucrezia certainly has the ability to activate mirrors maybe they both left through the mirror as well, which would also explain why Ariadne herself has no idea where Skifander really is. Or at least, she doesn't know precisely where it is, the expedition she sponsored must have had at least some clue, possibly with some hints from her. But what exactly is she after? There must be something in Skifander she thinks she can use to realise her . It'll be interesting to see what she's after on Skifander, but it does seem the odds are stacked against her at this point. It occurs to me that, if she indeed left with Lucrezia, this was obviously before Klaus arrived and restored Zeetha's mother as sovereign. She might think she can have an army of priestesses, but there are none left and no even knows how to make them any more, except maybe Ariadne herself. So her mission could be doomed to fail, unless she's after something else, or has minions ready to be transformed.
- Well, Lucrezia did send Klaus to Skifander so she knew about the place. The mirrors don't, in general, work. Lucrezia could, apparently, active a pair occasionally. The Refuge of Storms had a Spark-built "mirror" and Lucrezia did have connections to the house of Sturmvoraus. And Steelgarter does not need to have come from Skifander. She could have been born in Europa. the events Zeetha depicts happened early in her mother's reign, before she, herself, was born. Fred1740 (talk) 18:03, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
- We've had it confirmed in the Welcome Back that Monahan and her cabal are Lucrezia cultists, and we know that Steelgarter is trying to get to Skifander, but has there been any direct confirmation that Lunevka's also planning on going to Skifander? It's possible Steelgarter has a different agenda to the rest of the group. Zibbiz (talk) 00:16, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
