Many editors make long wikis.

Ooh! A coloring page for me to print out and give to my kids. Do we know Shane White? Google (shane white inker) turns up https://shanepatrickwhite.tumblr.com/Zarchne (talk) 04:41, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Whatever happened to the actual, more family-friendly, Girl Genius coloring book? It was mentioned in more than one of the Girl Genius Kickstarters, if I recall correctly, but only a single page was ever shared publicly. The inks on the coloring book page were apparently (he's credited for "art", not inking specifically) done by Nate Taylor (presumably this Nate Taylor). 🔧
I don't remember Shane White being mentioned before on the Girl Genius website or elsewhere by the Foglios, but that doesn't mean much, given the state of my brain these days. Googling "shane patrick white comics illustrator" turns up more information on the same guy that Zarchne found and reveals that he was the inker for Munchkin Girl Genius, so he must be the right guy. -- 🔧William Ansley (talk) 12:42, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

I'm morbidly thinking that DLcygnet gets a Moxana point for raising the question of Phil's health... This shoulder thing sounds not too serious, but any hospital stay runs the risk of infection. And I'm guessing we'll end up with a week-or-so hiatus for post-surgery recovery, even if nothing goes wrong. GG has been going on so long, so smoothly, that it's easy to imagine it as the product of a corporation, like Superman, rather than of individuals whose life events affect the result. (Yes I know Superman was created initially by individuals, as is everything, but those individuals are no longer essential to carrying on the story.) Anyway, get well soon, Phil! Definitely not the prediction I wanted to take for a victory lap. The website at least made it sound like a painkillers and ice problem - did they mention surgery elsewhere? DLcygnet (talk) 20:28, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
Othar's twitter was updated 4 hours ago, so that doesn't sound like even ambulatory surgery. ~~ Doug Relyea
"It seems it's Phil's turn to have surgery." on Patreon. But the surgery isn't for another couple of weeks. Bkharvey (talk) 23:29, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

For anyone interested, "Appassionata Von Mollusk" is a reference to the vintage comic strip L'il Abner, or at least the Broadway musical adaptation thereof. --Geoduck42 (talk) 17:11, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Since they recapped the history of the Geisterdamen, I wonder how long the Foglios have had this story line planned. Did they always know Lucrezia was going to be the big bad or why all the girl sparks were disappearing? DLcygnet (talk) 20:28, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Oh yes, surely they must have; it can't be coincidence that they threw in the mention of not a lot of female sparks. Bkharvey (talk) 23:29, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
I'm sure the female sparks being few in number due to the Geisterdamen as priestesses of Lucrezia the Other, builder of the slaver wasps, mother of Agatha, was a plot point from the beginning. They have to get back to the time window where Gil is dressed as a Geister. They've always had a plan to complete the cycle, they've said as much. There was a book that was put in escrow proving it for people who wanted to obtain rights to the story. I have to believe they know when in the saga the characters from The Works come into the story; they've said they all will. ⚙
However, not all the details were worked out and even though there is always a plan, exactly what the plan is can change; I mean, Kaja has said that sometimes they get a better idea. The book in escrow is largely no longer relevant (for some time). I have a suspicion they will skip the trip through Africa. This idea of Othar leading a group of rogues against the Polar Lords... well, I imagine the Polar Lords were there (they've been mentioned all along as the enemy to the north) but this feels like something thrown in relatively recently to coordinate with Othar's Twitter. The recap is a recap that was needed to make the Second Journey more standalone, though, like Zeetha's recap. Or to refresh those who don't have every page memorized. ⚙Zarchne (talk) 00:50, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
"a book that was put in escrow"? How do you know about this? Thanks. Bkharvey (talk) 02:49, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

Old page colored[]

The notes from Kaja on this page announce that 2021-07-30 (Friday) has been colored. Argadi (talk) 09:35, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

Location appearances[]

We should figure out how to better incorporate locations into Appearances. There is an appearances page for Mamma Gkika's but it doesn't include pages like this where Mamma Gkika's is the location text above the listing but not mentioned in the listing. Argadi (talk) 10:45, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
