- I'm pleased. It ties up half of my concerns from 4/5 nicely. Gil knows about Zola and Lucrezia; and they're headed to Paris as anticipated. Now we just need Kjarl to tell us more about the Dreen. - The Dreen don't act confused. I expect they know exactly what to say to form the desired idea in the subject's mind, and Klaus's hypothesis corroborated by Kjarl seems to me to confirm this. Notice, in fact, that Gil describes it in the past perfect "Klaus had done something", which very may well have been the present perfect at the time "you have done something for us" (or to keep the third person, "Klaus has done something for them"), which is perfectly (er, sorry) true for them, since our time is presumably all present to them. On the other hand, Gil using the past perfect is natural even if they used the simple past ("We are here because of something you did for us") because using the simple past would tend to imply they used the present ("you do for us") or even present progressive ("you are doing for us"), although in the latter case past progressive ("were doing") would have been more precise. ⚙Zarchne (talk) 18:36, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

I wonder what EXACTLY the Dreen said. In panel 3 it looks like they're pointing to baby Gil. Perhaps it is something that he will have done for them? Or perhaps Klaus had already done the thing the Dreen needed him to do for them - father and save Gil? In which case, their language and tense as written would be correct.
