- It's not a perfect match, but given the distance of the viewpoint from the figure on the previous page ✣ you refer to and Phil's somewhat elastic drawing style, I am sure you are right about the (apparent) decorative rooftop statue being an earlier appearance of the central gargoyle on today's page. -- William Ansley (talk) 22:36, January 27, 2017 (UTC)
- With the Master of Paris mentioning former attacks by the Heterodynes 200 years previously, I guess the Torchmen was based on the Paris Gargoyles. Perhaps at some point we will find out what exactly the Heterodyne Boys did 20 or so years ago to help Paris. Fridge horror thought unrelated directly to today's strip... Castle Dingbot is based off a fragment from the wrecked Castle. All fragments of the Castle intelligence loaded into various parts of the wrecked Castle structure were wiped out by Fra Pelagatti's Lion... except the one that is currently Castle Dingbot. Will Castle Dingbot have the same... instabilities that prompted Agatha to make the Lion roar? Or will it be more stable (for a given value for Castle) like the squirreled-away copy that was in Otilia's platform? --MadCat221 (talk) 23:56, January 27, 2017 (UTC)
