There is more than one "Baron" within the Girl Genius story, although any reference to "The Baron" is almost certain to mean Baron Klaus Wulfenbach:
- Baron Oublenmach
- Baron von Twangsnekken
- Gilgamesh Wulfenbach, the son of Klaus, who assumed his father's title of Baron initially (on a temporary basis) when Klaus was thought dead after the Great Hospital at Mechanicsburg was destroyed, although Klaus showed up very much alive shortly thereafter. Gil later assumed his father's title a second time (again, possibly on a temporary basis) when Klaus was caught in the Timeskip with Mechanicsburg.
- Baron Klaus Wulfenbach, the reluctant tyrant of much of Europa.
